Do you have a top level account called "Trading"?  If so what's under 
it?  Did you ever knowingly have trading accounts turned on?  It should 
be impossible to get a "Trading Gains" or "Trading Losses" line in the 
balance sheet report unless you have at least one trading account. 
Once you get such accounts in your file, turn trading accounts off (or 
even r18449 which forces them off) won't affect this.  Reverting those 
revisions reverts the balance sheet report so it once again ignores 
trading accounts.
