Price Editor shows blank

No, I didn't.  I simply ignored the entries and set up new, correct ones.  
Shortly after, I created a new file without the defective entries.  It was 
going to be a new file anyway, so it wasn't too much work.  If you have an .xac 
file from before the change, you could go back to there.  Currently, I am 
running "gnucash --add-price-quotes" according to the instructions, quite 
successfully every Friday.

(My email client is threading messages incorrectly.  Apologies if this turns 
up in the wrong place.)
