gnucash won't open

I have re-installed GnuCash, moved all files associated with gnucash from the
home folder, and put the backup from Mint 7 that worked fine into my Mepis
home folder. Guncash still won't open the file. If I use the konsole and
open Gnucash with no file open then try to open my data file, the program
closes.

Will do a complete removal of Gnucash and then a fresh install and see what
happens.
