New Reports Layouts

I have just switched from Gnucash for Windows 2.2.9 to 2.3.5, and have
found a small irritation with the new reports layout.

With the previous version of reports, I could simply cut and paste the
content of a report into Excel, and rely on the layout of the resulting
spreadsheet matching the layout of the report as displayed by gnucash.

With the new version, I find that this doesn't always work, as there are
spurious line breaks embedded in the data. For example, if I run an
Income Statement, wherever the gnucash report shows a horizontal line
under a column and a total to the right of it, then when pasted into
Excel that line is broken, and the value for the total appears in the
first column of the second line. This makes the report pretty
unintelligible!

Is there some chance that this might be changed? The new reports
actually look much nicer in gnucash than the old ones did, but I rely on
Excel to format them, and this new behaviour has completely broken them
for me!
