2.3.3 greyed out save button

I am using GC 2.3.3 on vista and the save button is greyed out. I have
started an account and entered about a years worth of data without noticing
the grey 'save' button was not working. I cant find any .xac or .log files
anywhere but I am not that sure where to look. Can this be fixed or how do I
get the files to save or indeed get them off the computer to re-enter in say
GN 2.2.9 which I know has a working save button.
