trial balance report mechandising option

Hi

I'm currently running gnucash 2.2.9 on windows xp sp3 and
i am getting the following message, "report error an error occured while
running the report",  when i select the trial balance report from
"reports>income&expense>trial
balance".

The steps i took to produce this message are:
- select trail balance report from reports>income&expense>trial balance".
-click on options
-select "merchandising"
-select accounts in "gross adjustment accounts' and "income summary
accounts"

q. can someone advise me on how to use / setup  adjustment accounts.
