New user with a problem

I have a question:
I am a new GnuCash user as of yesterday. I have entered a total of 19 transactions in the check book section. The first 7 entries that show up in the checkbook and register do not show up in the General Ledger. I don't know what I did wrong or how I did it. However I think it needs to be fixed. Does anyone know 1. What I did wrong? 2. How do I fix it?
