failing to run gnucash 2.4 on MacOSX Leopard (10.5.8)

Hmm. It appears that it's installed by Developer Tools (a.k.a. XCode). That's an optional installation on your Leopard distribution DVD.

It also appears that I managed to build 2.2.9 without requiring it at all, and 2.3.x with a newer version in the bundle. I'll fix 2.4.0 so that uses an in-bundle libltdl and get new dmgs up in a day or two.
