New mortgage setup confusion

It turns out that the current stable version of GnuCash, 2.4.0, really does do exactly what the documentation says. So I myself was mistaken when I replied to you before. (But you can still create accounts manually, that’s no problem.) When you do use Actions > New Account Hierarchy, the new accounts it creates will be inserted into your already-existing data file, not a new one.
