Once you are able to quickly-enough click the "don't close this 
automatically" box, those messages can reveal a lot. I haven't tried 
this, but it might be possible to give yourself a better chance at the 
checkbox by pulling the ethernet connection just before accepting the 
"do you trust this certificate?" screen.
