Keep search menu open

Not that it isn't a little faster, but that's only if I am typing at the
time. Usually, I am mousing into GC from the other program. The ctrl F is
clumsy for me in the way too.
I could hot key a Function key following an all keyboard command cycle to
get it back open, I suppose.
