I'd be very surprised if GnuCash had any compatibility problems, as it
is a cross-platform application, but in general Microsoft hasn't been
very strict about maintaining binary compatibility with successive
versions of Windows.

There are lots of applications that worked on earlier Windows releases
that don't work on later releases.  Windows users learn the hard way
to look for explicit system requirements information before they try
to use a new product.
