Files, logs, etc.

Thanks again, Maf.  All comments noted.  I'm ashamed to say I finally found a bit in the pdfs about files and how they work AFTER I'd posted my original message.  :(

And for reference, I changed the length of time to save files from 30 to 5 days, and now I just have my main data file and a couple of .xac files but no logs in the directory.  Didn't notice whether they were removed on GC start or GC close.
