Export Reports in .csv Format

I have found that I can open the exported html page in Open office 
calc.  Then save is as a spreadsheet or a .csv file.  The advantage of 
saving it as a .csv file is that it removes the links and allows you 
then add your calculations.  I assume the same capability is available 
in Excel
