gnuCash use for Financial Management of dog kennel

I am trying to set up a financial management tool (gnuCash) for my wife's dog
kennel.  Is there anyone out there who has accomplished this feat??  I am
looking for any ideas, lessons learned, etc.  Why reinvent the wheel.
