changing GST

Hi

Although I am not required to register for Australian GST because my annual
turnover is below the threshold, I have been religiously recording it on
Gnucash.  Now my accountant tells me I should have ignored it altogether so
I am now hoping there is an easy procedure to remove it from my purchases
and sales for an entire year or will I have to amend each invoice and bill. 
Any help would be much appreciated.
