Reversed image of reports

No, no need to restore data.  You should just be able to uninstall
2.2.0, install 2.2.9, and run it and it *should* just open your data.
Worst case you might need to File -> Open your data file, so you should
figure out where it lives before you uninstall 2.2.0.  But you should
DEFINITELY run 2.2.9!!!!
