How to customize the account list in the register

You might want to experiment with the shortcut approach to entering
accounts. Since I began using it, I rarely resort to using the drop down
list.

My apologies, that was what I was trying - and dismally failing! - to say.
Serves me right for posting when in a hurry to go out. :-(
It is, as you say, in the drop-downs that the accounts are not hidden - but
they should be. I believe this is a known bug.
