How to "close" an savings account?

Colin--

I reported this as a bug (#397135) back in 2007, along with the workaround. I have come to see it as a "Quirk" rather than a bug.

Hidden accounts won't show in the Chart of Accounts under normal circumstances, but will still show up in Autofill. Setting an account as a Placeholder account (which makes the account read only, as well) will remove it from Autofill.

I see you are right, I had not noticed that a hidden account still
appears in Autofill.  Thanks for that.  Is that a bug?  I cannot see
any reason why one would want a hidden account to appear in autofill.
