Here is the trace file contents:
* 18:20:10 WARN <qof.engine> [guid_init()] only got 1100 bytes.
The identifiers might not be very random.
* 18:20:22 WARN <gnc.app-utils> Could not spawn perl: Failed to execute child process (No such file or directory)
end of file (added by me)
I have already deleted Gnucash. I will re-install it and try again. Then I will resend a trace file if I get the error again. I have tried it more than once already but will try again just in case this trace file doesn't shed any light on the problem. In the mean time I will delete all the trace files pertaining to GC before re-installing.
Thanks,
Harold

No, I haven't experienced this yet.
To further debug this, can you list the contents of the GnuCash trace file
from the failed GnuCash run ?
See http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Windows#Error_messages.2C_Trace_file to learn
about trace files.
