I meant nothing more than is ordinarily meant by "it's a shame", e.g. 
"it's a shame it rained today".  Not meant to cast aspersions on 
anyone's character.  By "they", I was vaguely thinking of whoever set 
up the installation wizard, which I assumed, perhaps wrongly, could 
put the files wherever you tell it.

But this gives me opportunity to thank you and others for your efforts 
on this worthy project.
