RE Program Lock Up

Is it possible that there is a modal window opening where you cannot see it? I see to recall that some people have had trouble with Gnucash on their laptops opening a window on a phantom (invisible) screen, making it appear that the program had frozen, when it was just waiting for your action on the hidden screen...

Subject: RE Program Lock Up

Thanks to David Carlson for the reply
I am running Gnucash ver 2.4.8 .on my desktop with Windows HP.
everything in the programs works great --
But I have installed the same program on my HP laptop computer
running Windows 7.  I have put the same copies of my bank records in
   both computers.
Everything works fine until I want to see my list of scheduled
transactions on my laptop - that's when the program locks up. All of
the other buttons work normally--- I have uninstalled the program and
reinstalled it.  I have also downloaded it again from the website but
   nothing changes.
I have tried running a program compatibility check & changed to run
it compatible with XP, but nothing changes.
Thanks for any help you can give me      Welton
