To control installment payments I enter the transactions with the purchase
date in the description field. So I can see the liabilities remaining and
when I pay the credit card, the installments are paid.

Assunto: Expenses prorated to the credit card and forecasting future
revenues and expenses

I would like to use GnuCash for registration and control of my home
finances. But I'm having a hard time planning the launch of installment
purchases on credit cards.

I would like to be able to check the future transactions according to the
installments. It could be a report consisting of expenditure and revenue
provided on a monthly basis within a specified period (in the future). For
instance, I would like to know what will be the expected revenue and
expenditures in December 2011, and January and February 2012.

Let's say that in 13/dez/2011 I make a purchase of a unit at the cost of
$1000 using the credit card payment installments (without interest) to be
paid in 4 installments of $250. The card bill has to be paid on every 15th
day, and the its invoice is closed 10 days in advance (ie on 5th). So these
installments will appear on the invoices for the 15th day of January,
February, March and April. Note that if the purchase was made on the
dez/04/2011, the installments would appear in the invoices for December,
January, February and March.

How to deal with this transactions in GnuCash so that:

* the date of purchase is preserved

* it is possible to issue a report on future transactions, consisting
that in January I have to pay the first installment in February the,
  and so on

Any tips?

Romildo
