Double-entry question

Hi

 

Just need some advice about how to manage what seems like a simple
transaction.

 

I have two pots of cash. One is my 'cash in pocket' the other is my 'Gifts
Received', I like to keep them separate as it makes spending the gift money
on something special all the more special and it doesn't simply get lost in
the day-to-day.  I carry both around in my wallet.

 

Yesterday I ran out of 'cash in pocket' so borrowed from 'gifts received' to
pay for my take-away tea.

 

This is very simple and I managed to enter the transactions to give the
right cash result but I have lost the reminder that shows that 'cash in
pocket' now owes 'gifts received'.

 

Is there a better way to enter the above than a simple cash transfer between
two cash accounts to give the reminder I need?
