remove one line of a split

Often when I enter a split transaction (i.e., with more than two splits), 
I wish I could delete one of the lines of the split. Is there a way to do 
this--without simply deleting the entire transaction and re-entering it?

Consider for instance the attached screen shot. There is a blank 
line in the splits which I would like to delete.

In the 2nd attachment you see that *because* of the blank line, the total 
amount of the expense is not visible in Basic Ledger view.

I'm using GnuCash 2.3.17, build svn r19852M dated 2010-11-21, on a
MacBook Pro.
