GNUcash on Windows XP

I cannot retrieve prices with GNUcash 2.4.0 installed on a Windows XP system. 

I have ActivePerl 5.10.1 Build 1008 installed. Not being a Perl user I struggled for a while, but eventually managed to run the “gnc-fq-dump” test program to successfully retrieve prices, confirming that Finance::Quote is installed and working properly.

Using the GNUcash Price Editor, I get the error "There was an unknown error while retrieving the price quotes."
