Doesn't work for me. I had tried, and in "Open" dialogue and "Save as"
dialogue, only "xml" as data format had appeared, on GnuCash 2.4.2 on
Ubuntu 11.04 with postgresql-client package installed. Having you said
that for me, later I tried having the whole postgresql package
installed, result is the same (only "xml" option is there).
