Very nice look. It does some strange things when the window is narrow, but that's just me being annoying. It would, however, be nice if the left column boxes had a little less padding on the left. I also thing the right column doesn't need to be proportional--all it does is hold the Gnucash name, after all. Setting both of these columns as fixed, and allowing the center column to take the rest would also maximize use for the real content of the page.

I've commited some modifications: the ie8 problem should be solved, but 
can you check again with firefox 5.0 and 3.6.13??
