Reports YTD Summary

1. Yes - Income Statement report. In the Accounts tab select the expense
accounts you want to see, and in the General tab, select the date range.

2. Not really - You can't generate reports by Description, unless you create
a filtered register (Edit > Find then search by description) then run an
Account Report from the search results, but the report has a bug where if
there are unreconciled transactions the totals are wrong.
