Which report(s) gave you these figures? I know they’re hypothetical, but where are the real figures coming from, apart from the below pages/reports?

I think you’re referring to the GnuCash main page, the Accounts page. This is not a ‘report’ as defined by GnuCash, but just a page which shows you all your account balances.

What this is saying is that there is no imbalance.

This seems to agree with the above, except the Account Summary report in GnuCash (main menu, Reports > Account Summary) does not calculate total assets. Can you tell us the steps you took to generate this report?

This seems fine–your asset accounts seem to sum up to $16k; and total equity = equity - unrealised losses.

I think this is because you’re viewing the account in ‘Basic Ledger’ mode, which just shows one line for every transaction. To see all the dollar amounts, in the account window, click View > Transaction Journal to see each transaction expanded fully.

One last question–can you go into your Imbalance account and see if you have any transactions in there?
