My monotribe is a little different.
Gnucash crashes once in a while on me. I do not recall any other program
that does. I do frequent saves, so at worst I lose a transaction that I
must re-enter.
When it crashes, a pop-up box appears that offers to send a debugging
dump of some kind to the developers, and requests me to enter what I was
doing at the time. I used to do this, but when I commit the thing, an
additional pop-up box appears that says I must use a new version of
Gnome (I believe it is). In any case, I am not prepared to do that.
I am running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7 at the moment and do not dare
replace the version of Gnome that comes with that distribution, that I
always keep up to date. So this feature is useless to me and to the
developers. It seems too bad that the the GnuCash tool that runs on a
particular distribution contains a debugging tool that does not run on
that distribution. This happened even when Red Hat Enterprise Linux was
the latest distribution from Red Hat.
