Hi Jim,

it depends on your actual version of gnucash and of operating system if
you can update to the most actual program version without any problem.

In past there were only at some version steps problems (if you jump from
very old to newest) to use saved data, but normally it works well.

Tell us your actual version and you can get anwser.
