Hi Les,

Since https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=673241 was closed it is
now necessary to search the user mail archives for more details.  That
bug report was intended to report the issues with selecting alternate
quote sources and with finding multiple price entries ambiguously marked
'last' in the security price history if quotes were downloaded (more
than once) while the market was open.

If your patch file is named quote.pm and it is the same as the file by
that name attached to
http://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2012-February/043255.html,
I think that it is as simple as replacing the file that you already
have.  Scroll down the thread that you find at
http://gnucash.1415818.n4.nabble.com/Unable-to-receive-quote-for-CURRENCY-EUR-td4354816.html#a4362659
for more information.  Be sure to read all the way to the last few
entries dated in March.

I am using Windows 7 so I cannot comment on how to inject the file into
your OS.
