How does one adjust column widths?

I assume you're using a version of Gnucash prior to 2.4.9, since the bug about this (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=666576) has been closed.

You might try double-clicking on the balance heading. That should auto-adjust the column width for you. Or update to 2.4.11.

Because the description column is autoadjusting you must first expand
the other columns before you can shrink it. Tricky, isn't it? ;-)
