"Retain log files:" user preference not working

No matter what value I set "Retain log files" to, gnucash never automatically
deletes old log files. 

Gnucash 2.4.11 binary w/ sqlite backend
Mac OSX 10.7.4

P.S. I've noticed this behavior since at least 2.4.8.
