GC 2.4.11 fails to launch (Windows XP)

Do you have other software installed that is based on mingw or cygwin ?

There are known issues with for example lilypond [1]. It updates the 
global path in a way that is incompatible with GnuCash.

Also if you have installed git in your default path, you can have issues.

To get more details, please install gnucash 2.4.11 again, have it run 
and abort and then check the most recent gnucash trace file [2]. It may 
give you mor information on what goes wrong.

The lilypond/guile conflict is a very likely candidate, because as of 
gnucash 2.4.9, gnucash uses a newer guile version, which reveiled the 
conflict with lilypond.
