If you want to be safe, upgrade to 2.2.9 first.

Clarification requested (might make clearer what I think is needed)

I have been using 2.2.0 (for quite a few years now)

1) What problems (if any) are to be expected trying to open files 
created by this version using any of the newer versions?

2) The same information ought to be provided for all other combinations.
