Can't access data or accounts

Hi,
   I click on Gnucash and am unable to access my data or accounts.  I get the message:
“There was an error parsing the file file://c:users\John\gcashdata.3emptyAccts.gnucash.201102161520.gnucash”
When I try to access saved files, I still get an error message.  
What do I need to do to access my accounts?
