GC Start up noise.

I never experienced this, no. But if there is code in GnuCash to trigger this, 
my guess would be it's the code the gathers random data to  generate GUID's 
later on. Some time back I discovered [1] this code was responsible for long 
delays during startup in some cases because it tried to read from a network 
device in a Netware enabled network.

Perhaps it's triggering some sound devices in a similar way ?
