deleting the program

You don't say what OS/Distro you are running.  Assuming you are running
on Windows, the answer is Start -> All Programs -> GnuCash -> Uninstall
GnuCash.  And then you can delete your .gconf, .gconfd, and .gnucash
directories which would be in your default home directory.
