balance sheet without indented balances?

Is it possible to create a balance sheet report (or any
other text reports that are organized by account) with
the account balances not indented?  The indentation of 
the account names provides sufficient information about
the hierarchy and indenting the balances makes the report 
way too wide when showing many levels.  However, I didn't
see any way to do this.  I'm hoping I missed something.
