As David Reiser says in his post you can hack the file:

usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Finance/Quote/Yahoo/Base.pm

After making a backup , try changing line 257 to read:

(($info{$symbol,"currency"} eq "GBp") || ($info{$symbol,"currency"} eq "") ||

Should be no line break there.

Of course when Yahoo change things again you'll have to edit it again.
