question about category of the account

Hello, I am really new to this and clearly doing something wrong. When
transfering from my checking to my credit card in the category I put
"liabilities: credit card", but it keep appearing in my credit card account
as a negative (in red). I have read the instructions on GNU cash but am
still not clear how to make necessary changes.
