But this is exactly what OP didn't want. He wanted amounts for a given period--not the current total. I'm not at my machine right now, or I'd check the options to see what they are. A few years back someone said the "Balance (Period)" column would show account balances for a time period, although I cannot verify the truth of that right now.

yes, this column is called "Present", and gives you the balance as of
"today".  Just click on the arrow on the right side of the columns and
then select Present to add it to your column view.
