When Yawar originally posted the question on 1/16 that was posed to him directly, it read:
"On the main Account Page can you change or filter the totals to a year? If I want to see only the current year totals, or look at last year totals."
THAT was what I meant by the OP's request.
So, yes, OP wanted current year information. Andre's post (which you are quoting) was a subsequent entry in the thread.

Really?  Where did you read this into the original message?  All he
asked was:

Where do you get from "today's amounts" to "Period"?
