Fortunately, no.
It means that is not a backup file or a log file remaining in the
directory, only the current file.
I think I have mine saving for ages, as I have plenty of hard drive
space.
If you use the books weekly, then keeping 2 months of the older files
and logs would be fair.
You should also copy the file in use to another place, eg USB stick and
keep it somewhere else.
