Equity wrong?

It looks fine.
Assets - Liabilities = Equity + Income - Expense
You have USD 1,831.16 Assets, zero Liabilities, so Net Assets is USD
1,831.16.
On the other side you have Equity USD 5,097.98 - Expenses USD 3,266.82 (no
Liabilities) which also equals USD 1,831.16.

If you think of the Equity:Opening Balances as "what you started with" then
you started with USD 5,097.98, had USD 3,266.82 Expenses, leaving USD
1,831.16 remaining.
Going forward Expense transactions would normally come from Assets (eg bank
accounts) or Liabilities (eg credit cards), and so not increase the Equity
account balance further.
