character encoding reports

I think that reports are displayed in webkit, a kind of embedded
browser, and if it can't display the character properly it uses a square
instead. I'm not quite sure what os you are using, but you might be
able to install a different version of webkit, maybe you could install a
webkit browser like midori for testing, maybe save the report to a file,
open that with the browser, it might give some insight into how to fix
the problem. I had never heard of this kind of thing till the other day
I booted up my laptop and discovered all fonts everywhere where squares,
it was like trying to navigate blindfolded. I was lucky to find the
solution online, guess it happened to more people, but it really had me
in a bad spot.
