Account Types

Hi all:
I have a sort of nagging problem within my trading accounts. Not all of
my trades are with securities of various kinds. I also trade in
precious metals buying and selling units of grains, grams and ounces.
If I wish to add (deduct) quantities/unit prices, I have to classify the
account type as "stock". But, if I wish to be able to down load market
prices with F::Q, the account type appears to be "currency".
I have been fudging the system by using "stock" for changes to
quantity/unit price, but I then have to use AU or AG for prices. I then
have to edit the values for those choices with the ending market prices
for the metals.
Is there a better (easier) method for doing this? If, within the
account type "currency", I could make changes to quantity/unit price, I
could use the currency types AUG and AUX for prices.
Sorry for being a bit redundant.
Thanks,
Les
