trouble with reconciling

This is actually starting to sound familiar to me, seems like a
problem I had when I first used GnuCash and figured out before I joined the
list, but I don't remember what the issue was. I assume you have a statement
date, starting balance, and ending balance when you click OK, though, right?
I might have changed something in preferences, like unchecking automatic
interest transfer under register. I don't think that was it, but it almost
seems like my issue had to do with interest. I can't find anything obvious
or memory-inducing, though.

so i've done the show all windows thing (in my mac i click on the app in the
doc and it shows all open windows)... no reconcile/ funds in/ funds out
window... just the original window with the date and balance of the
statement.
any other ideas? thanks.
